Indy Hawks Legends – Hector Cueto

Hector Cueto was an amazing talent who showed up in Indianapolis the fall of 2005 unannounced and became the energizing factor that enabled the 2006 GIDC Hawks to make a repeat appearance in the 2006 USADB Championship game in St. Louis, Missouri. Cueto was a 6 foot center who averaged 16 and 8 rebounds in his first season with the Hawks during the 2005-06 season. The next year 2006-07, he was moved to swingman where he propelled the Hawks to a 35-5 season record behind his 22 ppg average – unfortunatedly, the Hawks were upset in the USADB semi-finals 91-72 by eventual 2007 champions, DC East Zone. Cueto was also named the 2007 CAAD Most Valuable Player. In his two seasons with the Hawks, Cueto was an electrificying player who was very popular with opponents, fans and his teammates.
